This cute Tea Caddy can be used to hold napkins, teabags etc. I've made them as gifts and placed small cocktail size napkins, muffins, small fruit cakes and teabags inside.
For the placemat, I pieced scrap fabric in pastels to make a rectangle that measures 12 by 16 inches. I like to use Soft and Stable for the batting but it is not fusible so can be tricky to decide how to sew it in. I just sewed over some of the pieced stitching.

I cut Five 5 inch squares but should have cut them only 4 1/2 inches each because the caddy came out a bit larger than I wanted.
I cut the handle 10 by 3 inches and that could have been 9 by 3.
I used firm interfacing for the outer squares and none for the lining. I used firm interfacing for the handles but could have used thinner interfacing for the handles since it is folded then sewn.
